According to Kitole hit maker, Stephen Kasolo his life is in danger courtesy of Rose Muhando.

His counterpart artist, Ringtone seems to be unhappy with Kasolo’s music relationship with Muhando.

This is after Rose Muhando allowed Kasolo to upload her latest song on Kasolo’s YouTube channel.

“Ringtone is threatening my life after Rose Muhando allowed me to Upload her music ( Uhuru Song /Kenya Ulindwe) in my YouTube Account.” Kasolo said.

Rose spoke to Ngomma Company via Maurice and said she was the one who authorized that song to be in Kasolo’s account.

The Report which was moved by Hon. Ruth Kyene (Nzambani) who is also the Vice chairperson of the said committee and Seconded by Hon. Philip Nguli (Migwani) garnered massive support from the Honorable members.

The genesis of this report was a motion on implementation of Model Early Childhood Development Education in Kitui County which was tabled in the House by Hon. Johnson Kanandu (Mumoni) during the afternoon plenary sitting of Tuesday 3rd July, 2018.

Pay Us Our Sh.1.7 Billion Or Else, Riled Contractors Tell Ngilu

$

A group of contractors drawn from across Kitui have accused Governor Charity Ngilu’s administration of playing underhand games with their dues amounting to Sh.1.74 billion.

The visibly fed up tenderprenuers told a press conference in Kitui Town that the county still owes payments for 81 assorted contracts more than three years since completion.

The contracts in question were awarded and undertaken in the 2015/2016 financial year.

The contractors also threatened to stage demonstrations and disrupt county operations should the mbee nzei administration fail to pay up their dues within the next 14 days.

Their association’s chair Nelly Kavuu regretted that they had been denied their pay despite numerous requests including a legal action.

“They have flatly refused to pay us even after the relevant authorities certified that the works we undertook were fully implemented as per respective BQs,” she averred.

The contractors further wondered why the government has been paying contractors hired during the new administration which assumed power after August 2017 General Election, but had discriminated against them in terms of payment.

“Our properties are on the verge of being auctioned by banks we secured loans from while some of us have been forced to sell their properties to service the loans,” said Ms Kavuu.

Another Contractor Mbondo Mwania, who lives with physical disability, said they had done everything possible including petitioning the Senate and obtaining a court order compelling the Charity Ngilu-led administration to pay their dues but in vain.

“There is no goodwill from the county government towards paying us. Our woes seem to be politically instigated since it is the current regime that has refused to pay us besides denying us access to other tenders which could help ease the situation,” lamented Mwania.

Sylvester Mutunga said on April 13, 2018 Kitui High Court Judge Lilian Mutende ordered the respondent Kitui county government to pay the complainants their dues for the works done without further delay.

“We don’t understand why the court order has not been honoured to date. We appeal to higher authorities to intervene and have our bills paid forthwith,” petitioned the contractor.

Governor Kivutha: Regional Versus National Politics as we approach 2022

$

0

Ukambani politics have become a Tower of Babel; they seem rudderless. Kalonzo tells us to go this way, Muthama that way. Each expects we shall follow without questioning. Careful scrutiny of our politics today tells one there is a leadership vacuum crying to be filled.

Unfortunately the current debate lacks a discussion on vision and the ingredients of a genuine, people centred development agenda. For the transformation of Kenya, the Kamba Nation included.

Several individuals from the region have declared interest in high political office. We must remember that to succeed, all of Kenya must support a candidate. It is wrong to pre- campaign as if only Kambas will vote for the Kamba presidential candidates. That way we shall unwittingly isolate our region from the rest of Kenya. And then court massive failure.

Those who carefully listened to Archbishop Timothy Ndambuki at Yatta heard him emphasize the imperative of a transformational agenda to lift Kenyans including Kambas from historical poverty. The clergy did not endorse any body at Yatta. They went to deliver a prophetic message. We need to move away from politics of personality cults to politics of people’s transformation.

Kalonzo has the democratic right to seek a merger of WIPER with the President’s 2022 Party. Muthama has the same right to make a personal decision to work with DP Ruto. Others have the right to choose any political path. Whoever disagrees with them has no right to deny them their choices.

Since Baba has pronounced the death of NASA, and JUBILEE is also facing some internal problems, the political arena is now wide open.

Let the Kenyan people including Kambas for a change be at the forefront of shaping the New Politics. Let them help develop or crowdsource the ideas they want a political party to champion.

Just like our leaders have said we study the BBI and ultimately make a decision on it, let us also be part of establishing new political democratic formations which serve us and not merely individuals.

And above all let us think Kenya first and our regions second. Real national unity will be the unity of purpose of all Kenyan peoples.

I plead with us to discuss, among others:

1. Full implementation of the 2010 Constitution and Devolution and the Basic Law’s enhancement if necessary.

2. How to fight corruption

3. How to create a nation out of our ethnic groups as we leave nobody behind.

4. How to achieve robust economies built on our comparative advantages and therefore equitable development so as to guarantee inclusivity in keeping particularly with the SDG and Africa Agenda 2063 platforms and our national and county blueprints.

5. Genuine youth empowerment in education, skills development, jobs creation, entrepreneurship, talents development, financial inclusion and leisure.

6. Promotion of rule of law, people driven public participation, ethical leadership, entrenchment and respect of public institutions, accountability, separation of powers, and checks and balances.

7. How to deal with public debt.

8. How to reverse environmental degradation and climate change.

9. Affirmative action for women, persons with disability, senior citizens, and other marginalized groups and minorities.

10. How to achieve mutually beneficial relationship with rest of Africa and the world at large.

By: Alphonce Mutinda Kanyili.

Nearly 60 years of independence kitui county leadership must rethink and reevaluate the counties development approach to tame decades of underdevelopment marginalization and high levels of poverty

County residents must also take a front line position in demading their rightful share of development from elected leaders in the area.

Speaking during the burial of the late Mulwa Kilonzi in malembwa village Kyamatu location in kitui east subcounty, former director of communications Kitui County Munyasya Nzese Musya said for many years kitui county has lagged behind development sighting voo/kyamatu ward which is generally still lacking in basic social-economic infrastructure.

“Time has come for us ordinary citizens and our leaders to sit back and look back and ask ourselves what went wrong that 60 years after independence we are still one of the most poorest ,underdeveloped and backward people, we must now demand development from our elected leaders.” he said

He said county government of kitui must fully engage residents in public participation to enable them identify their most pressing needs and stir up social-economic development. ” let us demand services from our elected leaders. Do not ask for “tea” or small cash handouts from them. Let us ask for what will benefit everyone and not petty personal gains.”

Munyasya who is one of the top and highly respected journalist in the country and who hails from voo/kyamatu ward said what marginalised communities need was greater opportunity and involvement in development and urged residents to keep the elected leaders on their toes to deliver on their promises. Munyasya has been on the forefront in advocating for development in this region a move which is worrying the elected leaders leaving them in questions on Munyasya’s political stand in 2022 with some alleging that he could be in the political race come 2022.
